What We Do

SHPA has the following aims and objectives:

  • To provide a collective voice and platform for collaboration for MHI and other social health protection and/or micro-insurance schemes
    1. To influence policy through advocacy, research and joint policy development
    2. To support in identifying and drawing down new resources and funding to start-up, improve and extend schemes
    3. To develop tools, guidelines and standards for schemes
    4. To support the development of management information systems for schemes
  • To provide a high quality resource center on MHI and other social health protection and/or micro-insurance schemes
    1. To provide technical support to new and existing schemes
    2. To mobilize internal and international expertise on MHI and SHPA
    3. To provide access to high quality technical and managerial training for schemes
  • To provide an information and communication platform for the MHI and other social health protection and/or micro-insurance schemes
    1. To share information and facilitate networking between schemes
    2. To improve the marketing and promotion of schemes and reach out to new audiences

In line with these objectives, since 2012 SHPA has undertaken specific work in the following areas:

SHPA also works continuously with the Government of Cambodia, development partners and other key stakeholders to create an enabling policy, financial and legal framework for the operation of effective and efficient social health protection schemes across the whole of the country.
